Sargeliai. Sargeliai Center is a Non-governmental Organization in Lithuania with about two hundred members from Sargeliai and surrounding citys, villages: Sargelių, Burbiškių, Papušynio, Tautušių, Tendžiogalos, Žaiginio, Maižiškių, Paluknio, Litvinų, Liaubarų, Aukštuoliukų, Vainotiškių, Rinkšelių, Tendžiogalos, Rinkšelių, Skirmantiškės, Pikčiūnų, Raseinių, Kauno, Ariogalos.
Our main aim is regional development, with emphasis on social, material and ecological living conditions. Sargeliai Community and the Sargeliai Center for Science, Culture, and Arts The Sargeliai Community and the Sargeliai Center for Science, Culture, and Arts actively operate in various fields, aiming to improve the quality of life for local residents and promote a sense of community. Activities include: Children’s Day Center (VDC)
Services for children and youth: The center provides educational and leisure activities, organizes excursions and educational programs to promote youth development and social integration.
Senior Activities
Caring for senior well-being: Various activities such as lectures, workshops, and social support are organized to ensure seniors remain active and socially engaged.
Environmental Initiatives
Wetland restoration: The community engages in environmental projects such as wetland restoration to preserve and enhance the local ecosystem.
Educational and Cultural Events
Lectures and workshops: Educational events for different age groups are organized to encourage lifelong learning and cultural growth. Performances and celebrations: Cultural performances, rituals, and celebrations are held to strengthen community bonds and preserve traditions.
Social Support and Leisure Activities
Social support: Assistance is provided to those in need, ensuring the well-being of all community members. Leisure activities: Various recreational activities are organized to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
Recreation and Tourism
Tourism promotion: Initiatives are developed to promote tourism in the Sargeliai area, attracting visitors and introducing them to the region.
Infrastructure Rental
Facility and land rental: The community offers rental services for premises and land (lotto), generating funds to support further activities.
Funding Sources
To fund its activities, the Sargeliai Community and the Sargeliai Center for Science, Culture, and Arts carry out various fundraising initiatives, including event organization, concerts, workshops, educational programs, tastings, performances, rituals, ceremonies, holiday celebrations, facility and land rentals, grant writing, and collaboration with other organizations.
For example, the social partnership program “Eat Smart” was implemented to share best practices on high-quality food products and promote healthy eating habits.

The Fly-orchid is extremely rare in Lithuania and yet it was found growing in two places near Sargeliai. Thus the characteristic blossom has been chosen as a logo of our NGO.
